Hello, I'm Balkaran!
Balkaran Jaswal is a born-and-raised Calgarian with a background in retail leadership and a passion for software development and game design. A recent graduate of SAIT's Software Development program, he brings a strong work ethic and a drive to build practical, creative solutions to his role at Bauer Automate.
Before transitioning into tech, Balkaran built a standout retail career, helping launch the first Nike Calgary location in 2015 and later being recruited by Uniqlo to support the opening of their first Calgary store in 2023. Motivated by a lifelong dream of game development and inspired by a mentor close to home, he made the decision to pursue software development and hasn't looked back.
At Bauer Automate, Balkaran holds the Microsoft Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900) certification and the Microsoft Applied Skills credential in creating and managing automated processes using Power Automate. He is focused on growing his expertise in low-code automation and contributing to real-world solutions that help organizations work more efficiently.
Outside of work, Balkaran spends his summers hiking, and counts New York City among his favourite travel destinations. He is also an active indie game developer, working on original game concepts he plans to share publicly, and has held a top 90 ranking in Halo Infinite across Canada.
