Privacy Policy

At Bauer Automate Inc. ("we"), our staff and the cats are committed to protecting the privacy of our clients, website visitors, and even the occasional furry coworker who might wander across a keyboard.

This Privacy Policy ("policy") explains how we collect, use, share and transfer personally identifiable data from you, a website visitor, through bauerautomate.com and other websites that we operate and on which we post a direct link to this Policy (collectively the “Website”).

We take the privacy of our customers and their furry friends very seriously. That's why we have implemented strict measures to protect personal information and ensure that it stays under wraps, just like a cat in a warm purr-ito blanket. We promise to never let information slip through the cracks or fall into the wrong paws. So rest assured, your privacy is safe with us - we've got it covered like a cat with nine lives.

What This Policy Covers

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through bauerautomate.com and other websites we operate, as well as information you provide through meetings, support sessions, ticketing systems, contact forms, SMS communications, and other interactions with Bauer Automate Inc.

Some client engagements are governed by separate written agreements that include additional privacy and confidentiality terms. This policy provides the general framework and baseline practices for how we handle your information across all touchpoints.

Responsible Interactions and Shared Information

We believe good automation starts with good judgment. When interacting with Bauer Automate, whether through our helpdesk, contact forms, email, chat tools, project intake documents, or early-stage discussions, please be mindful of what you share.

Do not submit sensitive, confidential, regulated, or highly personal information unless we have explicitly confirmed a secure method for doing so. This includes items such as passwords, private keys, financial details, health information, trade secrets, or data belonging to third parties.

While we take reasonable steps to protect the information we receive, standard support and intake channels are designed for general collaboration, not for transporting the crown jewels. Think of them like a cardboard box. Cats love them, but they are not a safe.

If something sensitive is accidentally shared, please notify us as soon as possible so we can take appropriate steps. If you need to share confidential or protected information as part of a project, reach out first and we will happily set up secure transfers that keep your data safe, contained, and far away from curious paws.

A Note on Privacy Regarding Our Furry Friends

We welcome anyone interested in technology and automation, even those who are a little furry or have four legs. By engaging with us, you acknowledge and understand that since [most] pets cannot speak, they cannot give consent to any clawses shown here in our privacy policy. Occasionally a non-human visitor may use the website or attend a workshop, and your continued engagement with us pawsitively confirms your acceptance of the attendance of these guests, whether invited or not. Additionally, as they litterally cannot seek legal advice or be purr-suaded to review the fine print, you agree to release them from any responsibilities that would typically arise from asking a pet to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Finally, you agree to hold us harmless for any errors or issues with the accuracy or quality of any data produced as a result of any individual, fuzzy or otherwise, sitting on your keyboarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd.

Important Notice: Submitting Information Securely

Before you send us confidential, sensitive, or personal information (including through contact forms, ticketing systems, email, or chat), please reach out to us first so we can set up a secure transfer method. Our standard web forms and support channels are designed for general inquiries and non-sensitive communications. If you need to share proprietary business data, health information, financial details, or other protected information, contact us at privacy@bauerautomate.com and we will arrange appropriate secure channels.

Where Your Data Lives: Canada, the US, and Cross-Border Transfers

We are a Calgary-based consultancy, and we store and process most client and website data in Canada using Microsoft 365 services hosted in Canadian data centers. Some data is currently processed or stored in the United States through third-party providers such as Zoho (we are working to migrate to Zoho's Canadian instance). Additionally, data may transit through or be accessed from Canada and/or the US as part of normal service delivery, support, backup, and recovery operations.

By using our website and services, you consent to the collection, processing, storage, and transfer of your information in and between Canada and the United States, and you acknowledge that privacy laws and data protection standards may differ between jurisdictions. We apply reasonable safeguards regardless of where data is processed or stored.
